Which of these two backpacks to choose depends on the size that you will be needing. While they have some differences in their design features, we feel that these features should not make or break the decision to purchase. Granted, if you do own a tablet, you will need to purchase the regular Icon, since the Slim version does not have a special pocket for it.

If you’ll be needing to do more than one days worth of backpacking, the regular Icon is the best choice. Otherwise, the Icon Slim can provide plenty of room, but without the extra bulkiness.
