A History

Scarpa
The Scarpa company was founded in northern Italy in 1938. This family-owned company brought together all of the best shoemakers in their local area in order to produce the best possible footwear.
Early on, the company was purchased by Luigi Parisotto. This man had begun to learn about shoemaking by the age of 11 years old 1940. At the age of 13, he had gone to work for Scarpa. He and his brother’s hand-crafted shoes, and started their own shoe manufacturing business in the 1950s.
In 1956, he and his brothers purchased Scarpa. Onward to 2005, Scarpa opened up a North American headquarters. They expanded their lines to include many different types of footwear. To this day, Scarpa produces the best quality shoes for telemarking, skiing, hiking, and mountaineering.
Asolo
At a time of war, people were eager to help out their country and anyway they could. It started as a small shop run by the Zanatta family. Through years of running their shop, they had perfected their footwear creations based on popular demand.
After the war, the second generation of the same family took over the business. In 1975, the Tanzi family founded Asolo. The third generation of the Zanatta family bought the Asolo brand in 1998.
We are now onto the fourth generation of the family. The Asolo brand has been one of the innovators in footwear for decades and is continuing to improve upon its models.
