This Samsonite Cosmolite review is for those wanting an ultra-lightweight suitcase is that is extremely durable. The Cosmolite is made with a new technology called Curv. This is a new concept in thermoplastics. One which makes products that are extremely lightweight and durable.
In fact, Samsonite has created a test using crash test dummies and a car to test the durability of the suitcase. After the car crashed into the suitcase, the Cosmolite whipped itself back into shape! Samsonite is the only travel company that actually uses this new Curv Technology. Curv technology is also used to make bulletproof vests.
The Cosmolite is one of Samsung’s strongest and lightest cases ever. It is made in Europe with a stylish shell motif that gives it a certain style and distinction.
Overall, the best selling point is really the fact that it is extremely lightweight, at only 6.8 pounds for the 81 cm suitcase.
Organizational pockets
On the inside of the suitcase, there is a zippered mesh on one of the sides, which completely covers the compartment. Apart from preventing your gear from falling out of that compartment, it actually protects it from anybody viewing your items. Granted, it’s semi see-through but works nonetheless. On the other half of the suitcase, there’s an elastic band where you can secure your larger items such as your shirts or jackets.
It is easy to maximize space in the suitcase. This is due to the fact that its walls are very thin. But despite the fact that they are thin, they’re one of the most durable hard-shell suitcases. You can make even more space by packing inside of packing cubes.
Utility while traveling
Because this suitcase is so lightweight, there are lower chances that you will actually get dinged for having a heavy suitcase at the airport. Usually, I got tagged with a heavyweight tag for my luggage because I tend to carry a lot with me. But the fact that this suitcase is so light means that I generally tend to stay under the weight limit.
The 4 360 wheels on the suitcase means that I can do figure 8’s very easily. I can roll this back and forth, backwards and in front. I have no issues pushing this luggage around in between people and in between aisles. It is very limber, and the wheels roll very smoothly.
Due to the unique look of the suitcase, when it comes out on the conveyor belt, is easy to tell that yours is on its way. It cannot be mistaken for any other suitcase unless it is the exact same suitcase.
With this suitcase’s combination lock, you don’t have to worry about losing your key. Just make sure that you do remember the combination.

The Verdict
The Samsonite Cosmolite is one of the best suitcases that we have ever reviewed. It is by far the most durable suitcase that we have ever come across. Furthermore, its lightweight is unmatched. Some may not feel that the shell-like design is suitable for men. We feel that this is more of a woman’s luggage piece, but perhaps the right choice of color can make it look more masculine.
The Cosmolite comes in a few different sizes. But keep in mind that there is a lot of space on the inside, and a larger size may be too large for you.
This is really one of our favorite hard-shell suitcases. We love hard-shell suitcases for the fact that it can easily protect your laptop and other fragile items. We would not hesitate to recommend this suitcase to anyone.
