Osprey Ozone vs Sojourn
What the Ozone and the Sojourn Are Used For
The Osprey Ozone is the most basic wheeled backpack of the two. It does not have all of the bells and whistles that the Sojourn does. As you will see, the Sojourn has specific features that make it great for hiking, as well as travel in the city. On the other hand, the ozone is great for the city, but not very optimal for a hiking trip.
The main purpose of using wheeled backpacks is not lost on either one of these models. But the Sojourn is far more versatile than the ozone. Despite the fact that it is more versatile, you will see that the ozone has one main advantage over the Sojourn. There are more details on this below.
Ozone vs Sojourn Comparison
In comparing the Ozone and the Sojourn, we cover all of the important features that must be considered. Each of the features below involves a difference between these backpacks.
Daypack compatibility:
The Sojourn was designed to be compatible with the Osprey Daylite pack. The Daylite pack is purchased separately, which provides a considerable amount of extra volume capacity. In contrast, the ozone is not compatible with a removable Daypack. A Daypack is useful for those times when you want to roam about the city without the bulk of a full backpack.
Versatility:
As mentioned, the Sojourn can also be used for hiking. The reason for this is that it has a deployable suspension. This means that the Sojourn can convert from a wheeled backpack to a full-fledged hiking backpack. The suspension on the Sojourn is ultra-comfortable and has all of the bells and whistles when it comes to Osprey suspensions. The ozone does not come with such a suspension. It is for this reason that the ozone is not particularly useful when it comes to hiking for long distances.
Laptop sleeve:
The ozone has a laptop sleeve within the main compartment. The Sojourn does not have a laptop sleeve, so if you are to bring a laptop along with you, you will need to put it inside the Daylite pack. But the Daylite pack is not quite as large as the Sojourn and will only hold a small laptop. This is the main advantage of the ozone. Not only does the ozone hold a larger laptop, it does it within its main compartment. This means that the center of gravity of the laptop will feel better in the Ozone backpack.
Carry handle stability:
As you can see from the image above, the carry handle on the Sojourn has two poles instead of one. It is easier to maneuver the Sojourn with this handle than it is to maneuver the Ozone with its flimsier handle.
Daisy chains:
In order to accommodate outdoor gear, the Sojourn has Daisy chains along with the side pockets. The ozone backpack does not have daisy chains.
Compression:
While the ozone has compression straps, the Sojourn also has straightjacket compression. Straightjacket compression is more efficient and will compress gear a lot better.
Hip belt:
The Sojourn comes with a hip belt attached to his harness, while the ozone does not have a hip belt at all. This is another reason why the Sojourn is more efficient for hiking.

Osprey Ozone vs Sojourn: The Verdict
In comparison to the Ozone, the Sojourn is definitely the most versatile and fully featured. With the Sojourn, you have the ability to go hiking, not just traveling within the city.
The main advantage to the Ozone is the fact that it has a laptop sleeve within its main compartment. If you were to carry a laptop with the Sojourn, you would need to purchase the Daylite removable daypack and put it in there. If you have a fairly large laptop, this will not work.
