Saris SuperClamp Assembly and Installation section
Here are the general instructions you can follow to install your SuperClamp. There may be some slight variations on the installation procedure depending on the version you have. Nonetheless, it has the same basic steps. We simplified it here for you!
- First off, you will need 2 tools: an 8mm hex key (included), and an adjustable wrench.
- Determine the measurement of your hitch receiver, whether it’s 1 and ¼ inches or 2 inches.
- Install and lock the assembled receiver bar on the vehicle hitch using the provided lock-bolt system with your wrench.
- Before mounting the crossbar, remove the protective rubber bolt covers on the bar.
- Align the bolts with the bracket of the receiver bar, then secure the cross bar with the 8mm hex key and wrench.
- Install the outside wheel holder on the outer side of the car, and the wheel trays on the passenger side with the reflectors.

Can I use my Saris SuperClamp at the back of a travel trailer?
You could use your SuperClamp as long as it has a hitch receiver. One major concern for racks to attach to a travel trailer is that it’s farther from the axle. This means that there would be substantially more bounce transferred to the rack and bikes due to a higher center of gravity. Hanging your SupeClamp that far beyond the axle may cause some trouble especially for long distance travels.
Will a kid’s bike fit in the Saris SuperClamp? It’s for a 10-year old.
