Comparing Osprey Nova vs Nebula
The biggest difference between the Nova and the nebula is the fact that the Nova is specifically made for women. As you can see from the image above, the Nova has a much more feminine look. It comes in female-friendly colors instead of the harsh colors of the nebula. There are also some slight differences in the trim of the backpack that make them look less manly. Granted, if you’re a fan of the nebula design, it is not so masculine that you cannot use it as a female.
Due to the fact that the Nova is made for females, it also has slightly less gear capacity. Instead of being able to carry 34 liter like the Nebula, the Nova can carry 33 liter of gear. Since the volume capacity of the Nova is smaller, it also weighs a little bit less.
Another thing worth mentioning is the fact that the bottom of the backpack is slightly more durable in the nebula than in the Nova. While the Nebula has 420HD Nylon for its fabric at the bottom, the Nova has 400HD Nylon. This is not a huge difference, but you can see where Osprey was going with us. It may be assumed that females will be using their backpack in a less rugged way than with males.
